  • Friends who have friends who have friends in the KGB. new
'Davis pointed to the Podesta tweet in particular -- an apparent reference to a tweet Stone sent in the heat of the 2016 campaign, where he said, It will soon the Podesta's time in the barrel. That tweet in August came weeks ahead of WikiLeaks' publication of Hillary Clinton campaign chairman Jo...

  • Sample apology from Dutch (14 replies) new
Hi everyone, Dutch here. You might recall a while back I posted an outrageous and slanderous news story about Saudi princes executing multi-million dollar racehorses for being gay. The story was originally published as parody in an Onion-type publication. It was in very poor taste. But I was so o...

  • ACR – A High Commendation new
.There is a fair bit of criticism of ACR in this forum, probably some deserved and others not so, but surely that is true for any poker site. I feel it’s my duty to give praise when it is warranted, and what ACR did for me recently should be highlighted. Come to your own conclusion to whether ACR is reputable or not. As I mentioned in my post for new members, I’ve recently got back into poker, I use to play mainly on PS, and only played satellites on other sites for big buy in tourneys to live e...

  • poker and superstition[emoji23] new
Like other athletes, all poker players believe in superstition, even if some do not admit it. For example, one of the mass prejudices is that playing in stale clothes is sure to bring success. but if the dog is next to the player - this is a guaranteed misfortune and failure in the draws. I wonder if you have any superstitions in the game? [emoji33] [emoji33] [emoji33] [emoji12] [emoji12] [emoji12] [emoji812] [emoji813] [emoji814] [emoji815]...

  • UTG and UTG 1 and Chart (Pre-flop) new
Hi! Just been playing Texas hold'em game with the free software on my PC and referring to the chart. There are 9 players. So lets say player 9 is on the button, player 1 is SB, player 2 is BB, player 3 is UTG and player 4 is UTG + 1. Players 3 and 4 are in early position. The chart shows hands for UTG and Early Position. My question is which information on the chart should I look at for players 3 and 4? Would player 3 refer to UTG and player 4 Early Position on the chart? https://www.cardschat.c...

  • Best time to join tournaments new
Hey, When do you think is the best time to join a tournament? Do you prefer to join a tournament, when the situation looks like, that the gtd prize pool won't get reached by joined players? or a tottaly full tournament where the prize pool is really huge? Do you have some experience with tournaments where the gtd. prize pool was not reached and how hard was it to reach the money? If someone know a guide or link where this is discussed, i would happy to read it. :D...

  • I got Shit Canned from my Job
So yesterday I got fired from my job. I had worked there just over one year, as a Customer Service Advisor for a large UK bookmaker in their call center Head Office. The reason they let me go was because I had been late six times, and also had six single day absences (sickness) since I started. To be fair two of those absences were self inflicted from killer hangovers, and I cited food poisoning as a reason. My argument was that they don’t even do sick pay for short term absence, so they were co...

  • A year passes by...
A whole year has passed since I dusted off the computer and shared my poker experiences with the community. The main reason I haven't chose to share is simple, bad play. It's easy to write when you're winning but damn near impossible to recap your losses when you have no financial reason to share your downfall. After a quick and disappointing Colossus at the 2016 World Series of Poker ( QQ...

  • Casino Host Chips
In the not-too-long-ago days of Las Vegas, your Casino Host was the man to know. They had the power of the pen and were generous with the RFB comps (Room, Food, and Beverage). They made you feel like a truly valued customer. Always happy to see you at their casino, they knew you were there to gamble, and gave little attention to today's obsession of tracking your play by computer and analyzing how much in comps you are entitled to receive. If you were there, you were playing, so you got comped a...

  • WSOP Tournament Chips
I booked my trip to Las Vegas this week for the 48th annual World Series of Poker. I'll arrive on June 5th and stay 18 nights. I'm catching up on a few PFA podcasts and listened to one yesterday where Druff suggested that the WSOP should have more than 2 racks of tournament chips. These two items gave me the idea to write up a Rio/WSOP chip article. The first thing I did was to check the Nevada Gaming Control Board Gaming Commission website. Each month they publish the Chip and Token Report. Thi...

  • The Big and Small of It
The Big We've all seen those Frisbee 500,000 and 1,000,000 WSOP tournament chips on the ESPN broadcasts. You've probably even handled a few oversized $1,000 chips in the pit or at the poker tables. These large chips are something of a novelty. They certainly stand out in the crowd. But did you know that a few casinos have produced oversized $1 chips? The standard casino chip has a diameter of 39mm. Oversized chips have a diameter of 43mm. Casinos generally order oversized chips as a means of pro...

  • Casino Chips with a Coin Inside!
Most of us have played with clay, plastic, or ceramic casino chips, but there's a fourth type of chip that is slowly being phased out of play. These chips have a metal disc, or coin, visible in the center of the chip. Known as Coin-In-Center, or CIC chips, these chips have simply become too expensive to produce, lack the array of colorful design options that today's casino chips do, weigh more than the average 11.5 gram chip, and do not offer the sophisticated security features such as RFID, mic...

  • The Demise of the Snapper
Well, by now you know that I've written several casino chip stories, so what on earth is a snapper? The $2.50 denomination chip used by casinos on the blackjack tables are known as a snapper. Most are pink, but I've seen colored snappers as well (insert jokes here). There are two competing stories on how snappers came to get their name -- both related to the table game where they're used. The Twin River Casino chip below will give you a hint. Wed, 28 Dec 2016, 06:33 AM
  • Limited Edition Holiday Casino Chips
The holidays are here and I thought I'd share a few $1 casino chip that were produced in limited quantities just for this time of year. All are from Nevada, California, and Colorado to celebrate Christmas, New Years Eve, and Chinese New Year. As you might have guessed, the majority of the New Years chips were produced in 2000 for the millennium. Let's have a look at some of them, starting with Christmas. Wed, 21 Dec 2016, 06:54 AM
